Downtown Lloydminster Event Grant
This grant is a source of funding to support businesses and community groups in order to host events in Downtown Lloydminster.
Deadline for submission is the 21st of each month, with applications being reviewed the first week of the following month. Please ensure you give adequate time for application processing.
The application will close when all grant funds have been allocated.
The applicant must meet the following requirements in order to apply:
- must be a registered non-profit in Lloydminster, downtown business or partnered with the forementioned;
- must possess a valid Business Licence (where applicible) and be in good standing with all City accounts (tax, utilities, permits, etc.); and
- must be an event for Lloydminster residents and take place in downtown Lloydminster.
Preference will be given to events that meet the criteria below:
- No cost or low cost for individuals to attend
- Coincide with national or provincial holidays or be seen as a community celebration.
- May support culture, arts or sports.
- Events that are intended to be multi-year and self-sustaining after three years.
- Accessible to the public and free of discrimination of any kind
- Secular and non-political, non-religious in nature
- Event is experiential (sales will not be considered unless proposal includes five or more licensesed businesses or vendors).
- Event profits are intended to go back into hosting the event or a similar event in the future (fundraisers do not qualify)
Eligible costs include but are not limited to:
- Honorariums for serivces to carry out the event
- Supplies
- Food
- Entertainment
- Marketing and advertising costs
The maximum funding allowed under this event grant is $1,500. The amount of funds are allocated at the discretion of the Economic Development Department based on recommendations of the Downtown Area Redevelopment Committee (DARC). Events will be awarded funding based on available funds, the scope and nature of the event, and the anticipated impact to the downtown area.
